Buying a digital piano for your home

Are you looking to buy a digital piano that fits beautifully in your living room? At VDS Instrumenten, you will find a wide range of digital pianos for the home. A digital piano combines the playing feel and appearance of a traditional piano with the possibilities of a modern electronic instrument. Ideal for beginners, advanced pianists, and anyone who wants to play the piano comfortably at home.

Our home pianos are designed for a permanent spot in the house. They usually feature a furniture-style stand, a complete pedal system, and 88 weighted keys. This makes a good electric piano feel much closer to an acoustic piano than a standard keyboard.

What is a home piano?

A home piano is a digital piano specifically designed for home use. Unlike many stage pianos, a home piano has a fixed stand or cabinet and integrated pedals. This gives you a complete instrument that can immediately be given a permanent place in the living room, music room, or bedroom.

A major advantage is that you can control the volume yourself. Many models also allow you to connect headphones. This way, you can practice without disturbing others in the house. In addition, a digital piano does not need to be tuned.

Electric piano or acoustic piano?

The terms electric piano and digital piano are often used interchangeably. Anyone looking for an electric piano for the home these days usually means a digital piano with weighted keys and realistic piano sounds.

A digital piano digitally mimics the sound and feel of an acoustic piano. You also benefit from features such as volume control, a headphone jack, and various instrument sounds. Depending on the model, features such as Bluetooth, recording, USB, and app connectivity are also available.

What should you look for when buying a digital piano?

When you are going to buy a digital piano, it is wise not to look only at the price. The keyboard, in particular, largely determines how the piano plays. If you are serious about learning to play the piano, preferably choose 88 weighted and touch-sensitive keys.

Also, pay attention to the built-in speaker system, the quality of the piano sounds, and the pedal system. Dimensions are also important. A compact digital piano can be convenient if you have limited space, while a larger furniture-style model resembles a traditional upright piano more in terms of appearance.

Buying a living room piano

Do you want to buy a living room piano? The look is often just as important as the sound. A piano usually stays in a fixed spot for years and thus becomes part of your interior. That is why our digital pianos are available in various designs and colors, including black, white, and brown.

You have a choice of compact models and larger digital upright pianos. Do you want the look of a real grand piano? Then take a look at our digital grand pianos. These combine the appearance of a grand piano with the functions and ease of use of a digital piano.

Home piano or stage piano?

A home piano is especially suitable when the piano will have a fixed spot in the house. Do you want to regularly take your instrument to performances, rehearsals, or the studio? Then a stage piano is often a better choice. Stage pianos are designed with transport and flexible use in mind and often have extensive connectivity options.

Do you mainly want to play at home and do you value a neat furniture-style stand with fixed pedals? Then a home piano better suits your needs.
